Hormuz stress, oil prices close to $100

ISLAMABAD (Khalid Mustafa) The price of oil has reached close to $100 (about 27730 Pakistani rupees) as global stocks and inflation fears have risen due to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz; In major economies around the world, including Pakistan, pressure on equities (stocks) has increased and fears of inflation have started to rise again. According to the details, due to the increasing tension between the US and Iran and the growing threats around the Strait of Hormuz, a significant increase in international oil prices was recorded on Monday. The situation has raised fears of a long-term disruption in global energy supplies, putting pressure on stocks in major economies around the world and rekindling inflation concerns. Brent crude oil prices rose about 1.3 percent to $97.50 (about PKR 27,037) per barrel, a seven-week high.
