Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has urged US President Donald Trump to prioritize negotiations over military action in the wake of growing tensions between the US and Iran.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, in a telephone conversation on Sunday, the crown prince stressed that negotiations to reduce tensions should be prioritized and every effort should be made to calm the situation and pave the way for a diplomatic solution.

In this context, the Crown Prince has also emphasized the need to maintain the peace and stability of the Gulf region and to avoid such a wider conflict that may have an impact on regional and global peace and security.
According to XVice report, the US President is considering the option of targeting Iran’s energy facilities after Iran’s missile attack on the US military base in Jordan and disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Dana Stroll, a former US defense official and Middle East expert, has said that Saudi Arabia has come to the conclusion that military power alone is not enough to deal with the threat posed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
