In Karachi, onion is being sold at Rs 200 per kg, while the price of onion is fixed at Rs 184 in the commissioner’s list.

Small size onions are also being sold for Rs 150 in the market.

Onion prices increase every year from mid-September to mid-October, the production of rabi crop is at an end, the new crop will start coming by mid-October.

The requirement of onion in the country is currently being met from Balochistan and like every year this year too onion will be imported to stabilize the price.

Apart from this, expensive petroleum products are also increasing the price of onion this year.
