Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India yesterday on a three-day visit where he will attend the BRICS summit and meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to foreign media reports, Putin arrived in India amid tight security, his fleet included two identical special planes that flew simultaneously so that it was not known which plane the Russian president was on board.

According to international media reports, Moscow has been using this security strategy during foreign visits.

Vladimir Putin’s special plane is a highly modernized and safer version of the Russian-made Ilyusion IL-96-300PU, also known as the ‘Flying Kremlin’ and the ‘Doomsday Plane’.

The aircraft can act as a fully mobile command center for the Russian president in an emergency, with secret communications systems that can maintain secure communications with military, intelligence and government agencies from anywhere in the world.

Putin’s plane is also equipped with radar jamming technology, advanced defense systems, satellite communications and secure radio and data systems.

The aircraft can fly about 11,000 km, has a length of 55.35 meters and a wingspan of 60.12 meters.

Apart from security, the aircraft also has lavish amenities including a private room for the President, bedroom, luxurious bathroom, private kitchen, dining areas and a large conference room for meetings.

The aircraft features a golden finish, precious wood and high-quality leather.
