According to foreign media, President Donald Trump has said that he would like to see the United Kingdom-administered Northern Ireland unite with the Republic of Ireland, however, pro-British unionists have reacted strongly to his statement. Speaking to reporters after meeting with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin in Dublin, Trump said he would like to see a united Ireland and he thinks it will eventually happen. Trump acknowledged that Britain’s opinion on the issue would also be important.
