Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has revealed that after the release of the film ‘Gangs of Wasepur’, my life and career changed completely and I was offered almost 200 films.

The turning point of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s career is considered to be the film ‘Gangs of Wasepur 2’ released in 2012. Before that, he played small roles in the Indian film industry for many years and was waiting for a big opportunity. Anurag Kashyap’s gangster film changed the direction of his career.

In an interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said that after the release of the film, a large number of scripts came to me and I was offered compensation and shooting dates myself.

“Some people even gave me blank checks and asked me to enter the amount and available dates myself, but I did not immediately decide to act in a film,” he said.

According to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, I rejected almost all the scripts because I didn’t find any of the roles inspiring, I decided to wait for the right project.

After years of struggling and waiting for my career to take off, I was in a position to not accept a project just because it offered immediate work and pay, the actor said.

“This decision of mine later proved to be in my favor and I was offered better and stronger roles, which allowed me to pursue a career without compromising on the work I love,” he said.

The actor’s recent films include Hero Panti 2, Awaah, Raat Akili Hai, The Bansal Murders and Thaama, while he will also be seen in the upcoming film Tambaad 2.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his Bollywood debut in 1999 with a brief role of a criminal in Aamir Khan’s ‘Sarfroosh’, after which he continued to work in minor roles in the early 2000s.
