Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that effective steps should be taken to make the quality of Pakistani products in line with international standards and the increase in exports should be made the basis of the country’s economic development.

A review meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister to increase the country’s exports and accelerate the pace of economic development, in which he said that along with the traditional sectors, more sectors should be prepared for exports to the global markets.

The Prime Minister said that to diversify trade, sectors and industries should be included in export activities and special attention should be paid to value addition in exports.

He directed to promote modern technology, research and innovation for export industries, adding that digitization and modern technology should be used to align the country’s economy with modern requirements.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also said that the administrative and business obstacles faced by the exporters should be removed and the export process should be made easier, faster and transparent.
