Madhu Bala, an elephant from the Karachi Safari Park, suddenly fell ill due to a possible infection and fell to the ground.
According to the management of the safari park, the help of a crane was taken to raise Madhu Bala.
The management says that Madhu Bala has swelling on her right hind thigh due to which she is not able to use that leg.
The park administration has further informed that Madhu Bala was also facing the problem of calcium deficiency in the past few days but now it has improved.
The management of the safari park has also said that Madhu Bala has also undergone some medical tests.
The veterinary expert says that the medicines given to Madhu Bala include antibiotics and these medicines have been given in view of the fear of possible bacterial infection.
Further medical examination is necessary to know the final cause of Madhubala’s disease, said the veterinary expert, adding that prolonged standing on hard floors can be a major cause of foot problems in elephants.
On the other hand, the spokesperson of Baldia Uzma Karachi says that there is no knowledge about the health of Hathani Madhu Bala.
It should be noted that Madhu Bala was transferred from Karachi Zoo to the Safari Park in November 2024. At that time, Madhu Bala was accompanied by other elephants Sonia and Malika in the Safari Park, while the elephant Sonia died 1 month after Madhu Bala was transferred to the Safari Park.
