Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has supported PTI’s resolution regarding petroleum levy and said that people are worried because of petroleum prices, petroleum levy should be abolished.
A resolution was presented in the provincial assembly regarding reducing the prices of petroleum products, this resolution was presented by PTI member of assembly Muhammad Owais.
Speaking during the Sindh Assembly session, Sharjeel Inam Memon supported this resolution and said that people are worried because of petroleum prices, the government levies more than 100 rupees per liter. This levy should be abolished.
He said that MQM is an ally of the federal government. MQM should talk to the federal government. MQM was an ally of the PP government in 2008, it left the government when the price of petrol rose by one rupee.
Sindh Information Minister said that those sitting in the federal cabinet should speak. We strongly support this resolution, calling on the federal government to end the levy.
Sharjeel Memon also said that the federal government should be aware. It would be a great transgression on the part of the government to oppose a public issue.
He said that the effects of the increase in the prices of petroleum products are very serious, it is a big tragedy for the federal government to levy more than Rs.100 on petrol.
Sharjeel Memon said that the federal government should not burden the people with inflation in the current situation, everything is getting expensive today. If the farmer finds diesel expensive, then the cost of production will increase.
The Provincial Information Minister said that due to the increase in the prices of petroleum products, the cost of transport is increasing. The Prime Minister has announced relief for motorcyclists. In the current situation, the petroleum levy should be abolished for the time being.
He also said that the federal government should immediately remove the additional burden on the people. People are already worried about inflation, rising electricity and gas prices.
