Federal Energy Minister Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Laghari promised to save billions of rupees of additional burden and valuable foreign exchange.

In a statement, the federal minister said that the fuel cost adjustment for August 2026 was about 1.73 rupees per unit due to more use of local resources.

He said that due to the timely measures, additional burden of possible 10.6 billion rupees and valuable exchange was saved.

Owais Leghari further said that the credit of this success goes to the people who cooperated with the government by putting up with load management for a few hours during the night hours.
