The Trump administration approved the sale of $2.8 billion worth of arms to Israel, including 40,000 bombs weighing about one ton.

This is one of the largest shipments of US sales to Israel.

According to Israeli media, half of the bombs sold by the United States are MK 84 Hammers, which are considered the most destructive weapons in the West, while the other half are BLU 117 bunker buster bombs.

In 2023, Israel used bombs of this type to turn buildings into piles of rubble in Gaza, leaving craters up to forty feet deep.

During the time of former President Joe Biden, the United States refused to sell such bombs to Israel. The Biden administration was afraid that Israel would drop these bombs on Palestinian cities and cause a large number of deaths.
