Spooky season is officially upon us, and the return of the Haunted Hotel will be one of our early Halloween treats. Netflix today released the new trailer, key art and first look photos for Season 2 of the hit animated comedy series Haunted Hotel.
As we are I mentioned previouslythe series created by Matt Roller is set to make a global return October 9serving up another round of hilarious chases, brutal mishaps, and supernatural shenanigans.
If you thought Season 1 was wild, a first look at Season 2 proves that the Freeling family’s troubles are just beginning as the Undervale Hotel finally begins to turn into “real business.”
What to expect from Season 2 of ‘The Haunted Hotel’
The newly dropped trailer immediately brings us back to the chaos. Katherine (voiced by Eliza Coupe) is trying her best to run Undervale as a legitimate institution – “and not just a building where the undead terrorize.”
The show gives us a quick clip of supernatural mayhem, including an immortal demon trapped in the body of an 18th century boy (voiced by Jimmi Simpson) praising a shadow monster trying to kill them, insisting “I’m a big fan of your work… I want him to like me!” Later, he happily discovers a thorn he “likes” by sticking it directly into his forehead. We also see a lot of new monsters as the family goes toe-to-toe with a slew of strange new creatures, including a huge snake, witches, a giant shark called a beluga, and even Esther seemingly transforms into a terrifying aquatic monster (who casually greets Katherine with a “Hey, Mom!”).
We also see the family hiring a new (and very revealing) employee who’s about to get a crash course in dealing with the undead.
Along with the trailer, Netflix also dropped the official poster for Season 2 and several screenshots that highlight the beautiful kinetic animation style that the show is known for.
The new set of first look images give us a closer peek at the eight new episodes. We see the family tied up in a witch’s hut, dodging floorboards collapsing into the abyss, coming face to face with a terrifying multi-jawed monster, and taking a very unfortunate boat ride with the giant shark, the beluga. We also got a glimpse of Katherine looking completely unamused while surrounded by a strange assortment of floating ghosts and ghouls.

The Haunted Hotel quickly became a fan favorite after its debut, becoming an instant hit Season 2 renewed on Netflix After two weeks in the top ten worldwide, Capturing 4.6 million views. The series is written by Matt Roller (Rick and Morty), and features an all-star comedic voice cast, including Will Forte (Nathan), Elisa Coupe (Katherine), Skylar Gisondo (Ben), Natalie Palamedes (Esther), and Jimmi Simpson (Abaddon).
