Let’s dive into the new trailer, stunning new images, and everything you need to know about the upcoming fantasy comedy.
A first look at the trailer and key art
Right away, the trailer lets us know that this isn’t your grandmother’s fairy tale. We are introduced to Lilith, voiced by someone like no other Ali Wongwhich breaks the fourth wall to set the record straight regarding her “evil” reputation.
Filled with high-speed car chases, glass slippers being smashed to smithereens, and some angry biker trolls, the footage leans heavily into action-comedy territory. We also get a fun nod to the film’s origin, boldly declaring that it comes from the studio that brought us the blockbuster Demon hunters in kpop.

What is it steps on?
If you’re wondering exactly how the fairy tale gets derailed, here’s the official synopsis provided by Netflix:
“Think you know Cinderella’s ‘evil’ sisters? Think again. Tired of living in Cinderella’s shadow, Lilith (Ali Wong) steals the Fairy Godmother’s (Bette Midler) magic wand and hijacks the royal ball with her sister Margot (Stephanie Hsu), breaking the Cinderella story as we know it and dooming the kingdom to the tyrannical rule of Priscilla (Nikki Glaser), an evil conspirator who will hijack the throne.” Now, Lilith must team up with Cinderella (Amanda Seyfried) to fight bikers, overcome evil henchmen, and escape the stark forest on an epic quest to save the kingdom, but most importantly, their relationship.
Along with the trailer, Netflix has dropped several brand new stills showcasing the vibrant animation style, giving us sneak peeks at Lilith wielding a stolen magic wand, a somewhat cumbersome carriage ride with Cinderella, and a domineering Priscilla taking a croquet mallet to a glass slipper.
