FIA has registered a case against the former project director Zameer Abbasi regarding the Yellow Line BRT case in Karachi.

A case against Zameer Abbasi has been registered in the Commercial Bank Circle. The case has been registered under charges of anti-money laundering and transfer of funds out of reference handi.

According to the text of the filed case, Zameer Ahmad Abbasi also paid premiums for 7 life insurance policies, records of his 24 foreign trips also came to light.

The text states that Zameer Ahmad Abbasi was given an opportunity to explain under Section 160 of the Penal Code, but he did not join the inquiry despite the inquiry notices.

Zameer Ahmad Abbasi’s financial affairs, bank accounts and foreign travel records have been made part of the investigation.
