Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has decided to bring a new ordinance to take legal action against teachers with bad exam results while expressing disappointment over the exam results of class 9th.

He ordered immediate action on less than 20 percent result in Class IX and directed prizes for schools with best results. The chief minister also ordered to fill the vacant posts of head teachers within 45 days.

A video link meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in which she was briefed on school education.

In the meeting, it was agreed to link the examination results of the students with the performance of the teachers and it was decided in principle to start the monthly and annual examination in every class.

Maryam Nawaz directed to ensure the appointment of subject specialists in government schools and ordered to present the complete timeline and reforms plan next week.

He also asked for the performance report of the outsourced schools.

The Chief Minister said that point scoring will not work in government schools, improvements have to be made. The hard work of the teachers should be reflected in the results of the students.

In the meeting, it was agreed to discourage the trend of expelling academically weak students from schools and it was also decided to introduce unified monitoring app for school monitoring besides evening coaching for weak students in government schools.

In the video link meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, it was also agreed to link the results of the students with the performance of the teachers and ordered to take immediate action on the result of less than 20%.

It was also decided to start monthly and annual examinations in each class.
