15 people were killed and more than 50 injured as a result of an explosion near the police line in Kohat.

Police personnel are also among the injured.

The police say that the explosion occurred during Friday prayers, which created a crater outside the mosque, the outer part of the mosque was severely affected by the explosion and the wall also collapsed.

Nearby buildings have also been damaged by the explosion.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfikar Hameed while talking to ‘Jeo News’ said that a vehicle full of gunpowder hit the gate of the old police lines, after which there was an explosion and firing.

According to police, the injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital, Kohat Hangu Road has been closed for all traffic.

After the explosion, emergency has been imposed at DHQ Hospital where 15 dead bodies and more than 50 injured have been brought.

More personnel have also reached near the police line.
