Thousands of Jamaat-e-Islami workers and march participants were present at Karachi Cantt Station. The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman addressed the participants of the train march and said that the government should read the inscription on the wall, abolish the petroleum levy, reduce the additional burden imposed on the people, the protest will continue until the end of the levy. At Tando Adam, Shikarpur railway station, Jamaat-e-Islami workers and a large number of people gave a grand welcome, showered flower petals on the leaders and shouted slogans. Tight security arrangements were made on the occasion. According to the details, while addressing the participants at the station in Karachi on the beginning of the march, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that the Islamabad march is not being conducted for the sake of any party or individual, but for the rights of the people. Due to the government policies, the people are suffering from the worst problems, the white-clad class is forced to live their lives in poverty, while the government is putting the burden of its mismanagement and poor policies on the people. The government is putting the additional burden of petroleum product prices on the people using the excuse of the international market. Instead of reining in the ruling elite, reducing government and elite expenses, reducing the number of vehicles and revising the cruel contracts of IPPs, more taxes are being imposed on the people. Jamaat-e-Islami held a sit-in for 35 days in Karachi, sit-ins are ongoing in Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad, while marches and protest sit-ins are also ongoing in various areas of Punjab. We do not like to protest in hot weather, but it is necessary to raise our voice for the rights of the people. Addressing the participants of the train march, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Munim Zafar Khan said that this caravan from Karachi to Islamabad is not just a journey but an important stage in the ongoing struggle for the rights of the people. The workers raised slogans in favor of Jamaat-e-Islami and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Kashif Saeed Sheikh, MPA Muhammad Farooq and other provincial leaders were also present on the occasion. On the arrival of the train, flower petals were showered on the leaders, the district administration made security arrangements and a heavy police force was deployed. Hafiz Naeemur Rahman said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s nationwide protest campaign against petroleum levy, additional taxes and inflation is ongoing. Jamaat-e-Islami district Shikarpur Abdul Sami Bhatti and under the leadership of Shikarpur city chief Maulana Sadruddin Mehr, a convoy of hundreds of officials and workers left Shikarpur city. On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders criticized the government policies and told the media that the burden of inflation due to additional levy on petroleum products and heavy taxes is directly falling on the people, which is a cause for concern.
