Faisalabad (Shahbaz Ahmad) The number of candidates participating in the MDCAT examination for admission to medical and dental colleges has decreased by more than 31% in five years. According to the details, a total of 138 thousand 158 candidates from across the country have given the test this year. Earlier, 240,000 in 2022, 180,000 in 2023, 167,000 in 2024 and 140,125 in 2025. It should be noted that under the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, there are a total of 22,000 seats available in public and private medical and dental colleges across the country. Among them, the number of seats in government medical and dental colleges is around four to five thousand, which are the most competitive.
