Almost two years in the making, Netflix’s new documentary about legendary heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson will be released on October 13, 2026. The four-part documentary series Tyson The film will chronicle the incredible life and career of the “Worst Man on the Planet”, Mike Tyson, through archival footage and interviews with the man himself. Not only is Mike Tyson one of the most famous (and infamous) heavyweight boxers of all time, but the former world champion was also one of the most influential athletes on Netflix. Although he may have long passed his prime, that didn’t stop the “Worst Man on the Planet” from entering the world of… Episode with Jake Paul on November 16, 2024, in Netflix’s first-ever live boxing event, watched by tens of millions around the world. Following the historic event, in December 2024, Netflix announced That 3-part documentary series titled Tyson It will be developed by EverWonder Studio, DLP Media Group and Five All In The Fifth, and will be directed and executive produced by Floyd Ross (Unspeakable: Hatred in the Palace).

Other confirmed executive producers for the series include Ian Orefice of EverWonder Studio; Jim Gray of Scratchy Productions; Michael Hughes and Greg C. Lake of DLP Media Group; and Douglas Banker of Five All in Five.
Subscribers will be happy to know Tyson It will consist of four episodes instead of three. With such a professional and eventful life, it is not surprising that an additional episode was produced.

Having the opportunity to share my story through the reflective lens of my growth and maturity in a multi-part documentary on Netflix will be a challenging, but also a very welcoming journey. Most people are too afraid to look at their lives objectively, and want to portray themselves as the hero of their own story. But if we are truly objective, we know that we can never be the hero in our own story. We must be able to face the man in the mirror, taking into account the good and the bad to provide a full account of our contributions to this life. Netflix is the perfect platform to tell my story due to its global reach.

Netflix has announced that its latest sports series will take an unflinching look at the life of legendary boxer and cultural icon Mike Tyson. Known as the youngest heavyweight champion in history (at the age of 20 in 1986), Tyson’s legacy extends far beyond the ropes of the boxing ring, establishing him as one of the most compelling and polarizing figures of our time. From his meteoric rise as “The Baddest Man on the Planet” to his personal struggles – including a prison stint and highly publicized struggles (i.e. finances, drug use, in-ring feuds) – and eventual redemption, this series will explore the man behind the gloves.
