Anita Harsh, the representative of the United Nations World Food Organization, met the Chief Minister of Sindh in which it was agreed to further increase the cooperation between the Sindh government and the World Food Organization.

In the meeting, it was informed that 250,000 students of 1336 government schools in 5 districts of Sindh, Kemari, Malir, Sajawal, Thatta and Tando Mohammad Khan will benefit from the ‘Sindh Sustainable School Meal Program’.

In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the ongoing support of the World Food Organization for the unprecedented development program, the protection of the vulnerable population affected by climatic hazards and the preliminary measures.

On this occasion, Sindh Chief Minister said that ‘Sindh Sustainable School Food Program’ is an investment in the future of children, Sindh is among the regions most affected by climate change.

WFP representative Anita Hirsch said that the school feeding program is a combination of nutrition, education, health and local economic development.

The provincial health minister, Dr. Ezra Fazal Pechuho, who was present in the meeting, said that malnutrition is one of the serious challenges faced by children and mothers.
