In view of the possible long march of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on September 27, the Punjab government wrote to the federal government to deploy the army and Rangers.

According to the sources, in the letter, the Punjab government has requested the deployment of Rangers in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Mianwali.

In the letter, Punjab Home Department has also asked for deployment of army in Rawalpindi, deployment of army and rangers in these areas has been requested till October 5.

Sources say that the Punjab government has applied to maintain law and order, the matter has been discussed in the Standing Committee on Law and Justice of the Punjab Cabinet.

On the other hand, Islamabad Police requested 18 thousand police personnel from Punjab and Sindh.

Police sources say that Islamabad Police has asked for 16,000 personnel from Punjab Police and 2,000 personnel from Sindh Police.

Sources say that 3 DIGs, 7 SSPs and 18 SPs have also been called from Punjab and Sindh.
