Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the India-Pakistan conflict of May 2025 is a reminder that it is dangerous to leave the Kashmir issue unresolved.

Addressing the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, he thanked the OIC Contact Group and the Human Rights Commission for their continued support for Kashmiris.

Ishaq Dar has said that Kashmiris have been waiting for the right of self-determination under the United Nations for 8 decades, India wants to change the ratio of the population of Occupied Kashmir through the actions of August 5, 2019, Kashmiri leaders and youth are being targeted under black laws in Occupied Kashmir.

Ishaq Dar says that India is using various tactics to change the demographic ratio and attempts are being made to damage the Muslim cultural and religious identity of Occupied Kashmir.

The Deputy Prime Minister has said that the voices of journalists are being suppressed in the occupied valley, while international observers are also not being given access.

He said that last year, India made baseless accusations against Pakistan without investigation, while Pakistan gave a responsible and balanced response in its defence.
