Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has introduced Cloud Ops 5.5, which the company calls an advanced artificial intelligence model that is smarter, faster and less expensive.

According to the company, the cost of the new model is about 40 percent lower than the previous model, while the response speed has been increased by more than 30 percent.

The cost to users is set at $4 for 1 million input tokens and $20 for 1 million output tokens, while the cost of reading stored information is reduced by 60% to $0.20 per 1 million tokens.

Cloud Ops 5.5 is specially designed for complex programming, large software projects, long and multi-step tasks like data analysis and scientific research.

According to Cloud Ops business users, the new model is better able to handle complex data systems and programming projects involving multiple files.

According to Anthropic, Cloud Ops 5.5 outperforms OpenAI’s GPT 5.6 Sol on a programming benchmark while costing about a third to run.

The company says the new model is about 85 percent less likely to attempt security breaches than Cloud Ops 5 and Methos 5.1 in security assessments conducted by independent firms Frontier Designer and METR.

The new model is available on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

The development comes ahead of Anthropic’s expected initial share sale this fall, which is being watched by investors.
