Dr. Najeeb Naqi was elected as the 25th President of Azad Kashmir.

Dr. Najeeb Naqi won by getting 32 votes, 31 votes were given to him by Muslim League-N and 1 vote by a member of Dast-e-Bazu Party.

PPP candidate Chaudhry Latif Akbar got 13 votes while 1 member was absent.

Dr. Najeeb Naqi was the Health Minister of Azad Kashmir from 2006 to 2011.

He has also served as the Health Minister in the government of Muslim League-N from 2016 to 2021.

Dr. Najeeb Naqi belongs to Palindri, Constituency Sudhnuti of Poonch Division.
