Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that a new lab will soon be established in Pims Hospital, after which all tests will be done within the country, and the existing lab services will also be improved.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, Mustafa Kamal said that providing health facilities to the people is the priority of the government, so far 70,000 people have been screened for hepatitis, and the government will conduct free hepatitis tests.

The federal health minister said that the new emergency and trauma center of PIMS is in the final stages of completion, there are 11 ventilators in the new emergency.

He says that Islamabad’s first cancer hospital is also being constructed in Pimz, which will consist of 205 beds and will cost more than 10 billion rupees for its construction.

Later, Mustafa Kamal also visited the MCH ward and the new trauma center at Pims.

On the question regarding the desealing of the Pims tragedy site, he inquired from the Executive Director Dr. Salman as to when the site will be opened, to which the Executive Director said that it has to be ascertained now.

Expressing his anger over the delay, the Health Minister said that the place will not remain closed until the end of the day, it has to be seen how long it can be opened and work should be done on it.

He also sought information about the locations of AC outers and said that seeing the pace of work, it does not seem that the project will be completed soon.

Mustafa Kamal said that the work of 2018 has not been completed despite the passage of 8 years, this situation is not acceptable, it should not happen that 4 more executive directors come and the work is not completed even after that.

The federal minister said that if the doctors and nurses do not behave well with the patients, the whole project will be lost, he directed that outside experts be called for 1 week for better behavior training.
