According to the department, visa fraud can include fake documents or travel plans, fake marriages, obtaining visas through fake companies, fake job offers and misusing visas to give birth to a child in the US.

The US State Department says that visa fraud not only defrauds the US government but also threatens the US economy, workers, public safety and national security.

According to the US Department of State, visa cancellations of violators may also be referred to relevant agencies for further legal investigation.
