Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema has said that the problems of registration of rickshaws and loaders should be solved immediately. The provincial governments said on this occasion that unregistered rickshaws and loaders are facing difficulties due to lack of excise registration.
A meeting regarding the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Ahad Cheema, in which Information Minister Atta Tarr, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, IT Minister Shaza Fatima and Minister of State for Finance and representatives of relevant institutions and provincial governments participated.
Ministry of IT and Pakistan Digital Authority briefed the meeting on Fuel Relief Scheme. In which it was stated that more than five million people have been registered under the fuel relief scheme across the country, the tokens of the fuel relief scheme are being issued successfully.
It was further informed that most of the problems including registration at the petrol pumps have been solved, at this time the fuel relief scheme is successfully running across the country on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
The briefing also informed that the provincial governments have started the process of registration of rickshaws. The provincial governments said that the rickshaws will be included in the fuel relief scheme after the registration is completed. Owners of registered motorcycles are benefiting from the fuel relief scheme.
Ahad Cheema said that the registration issues should be resolved immediately to benefit the public from the fuel relief scheme, the eligible owners of rickshaws and loaders should not be deprived of fuel relief.
Ahad Cheema said that the portal should be activated soon for redressal of complaints related to registration or token, rickshaws and loaders with excise registration and token payment problems should also be included in the complaint system.
Pakistan Digital Authority said that it will try to activate the portal soon to register the complaints of the users.
Federal Minister Ahad Cheema said that on the instructions of the Prime Minister, the visit of the members of parliament to the petrol pumps of their constituencies and the review of the fuel relief scheme is welcome.
He said that the system is being further improved in the light of feedback from the members of Parliament. Real time data related to the scheme will be updated as per the instructions of the Prime Minister.
The meeting was informed that most of the payments have been made to the petrol pumps. On this occasion, State Bank officials said that the issues of pending payments would be resolved in a couple of days.
Ahad Cheema said that there should not be any obstacle in the payments of petrol pumps.
Attaullah Tarar said that every possible effort is being made to inform the public about the fuel relief scheme, public awareness campaign and ground level awareness measures are going on.
He said that more steps will continue to increase public awareness regarding the fuel relief scheme.
Ahad Cheema said that he is satisfied with the performance of the provincial governments and the district administration.
