In the National Judicial Automation Committee meeting chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, consideration was given to introducing a uniform system for judicial e-filing.

According to the declaration, e-filing in family cases will be started on a pilot basis in the initial phase, a pilot project of e-filing will be started in all provinces and selected courts of Islamabad.

It was suggested to adopt a single comprehensive template for e-filing across the country, emphasis was placed on making the e-filing system easier for judges, lawyers, court staff and citizens, while the committee members were instructed to give suggestions on the e-filing template in two weeks.

The dashboard for real-time monitoring of judicial data was reviewed, concern was expressed over one month delay in receiving judicial data from jails.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Arbab Tahir and Justice Azam Khan participated in the meeting.

Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed and Justice Khalid Ishaq of Lahore High Court, Justice Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam and Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry of Sindh High Court participated in the online meeting.

According to the statement, Peshawar High Court Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Mohammad Faheem Wali, Balochistan High Court Justice Shaukat Ali Rukhshani and Justice Gul Hasan Tareen also participated in the online meeting.
