French President Emmanuel Macron has said that France will send troops, radar systems and defense systems to Saudi Arabia to protect the Red Sea coastal city of Yanbu.

According to the French President, the river is important in terms of energy transportation.

In the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, he said that the aim of this initiative of France is to ensure the security of energy at the global and national level.

It should be noted that Yanbu is the main port for the export of Saudi oil and the importance of this route has increased due to the ongoing tension in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Reuters, the Houthis also claimed to have targeted Saudi Aramco’s facilities in Yanbu in recent days, in which the main pipeline was destroyed.

However, Saudi Arabia has claimed that the Makkah East-West oil pipeline has been reactivated, which helps transport oil through the Red Sea instead of the Gulf.
