Protests took place in many cities of India today regarding the demand for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner of India. Police raided the protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi where many people were arrested.

Once again the police stormed the Jantar Mantar, the Delhi Police started arresting the protestors. The demonstration took place against the Chief Election Commission in which the protestors demanded that the Chief Election Commission should resign.

Several people, including student leaders Neha Bora, Yogendra Yadav and Dipankar Bhattacharya, were detained by the police. Neha Bora asked the Delhi Police to arrest Ganesh Kumar, not the general public.

The Wire’s special correspondent Muhammad Irfan, who emerged from Jantar Mantar, was also detained while his microphone was also thrown away.

It should be noted that the root of this dispute was a special report of the Indian newspaper.

According to the report, during the last 10 months, two election commissioners raised objections at least 14 times on decisions related to voter data, registration of new voters and security of electoral rolls.

The report claimed that certain decisions were taken without the knowledge of the two commissioners.

In the same controversy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also accused the Election Commission of ‘vote theft’, while Mamata Banerjee has demanded Ganesh Kumar’s arrest and re-election on the pre-SIR voter list.

On the same dispute, the emerging party of India ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ has given an ultimatum to Ganesh Kumar to resign by tomorrow and announced that if the demand is not accepted, a nationwide protest will be started in Mumbai from October 2.

It should be noted that the president of various organizations and the minister of education have resigned by showing their strength.
