North Korea has added a second 5,000-ton destroyer to its fleet, the ‘Kong-Kon-class’, which will form part of North Korea’s nuclear countermeasures system.

According to foreign media, the ship was handed over to the North Korean Navy at Wonsan Port.

On this occasion, the chief guest of the ceremony was North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who joined the ceremony along with his daughter.

Addressing the ceremony, Kim Jong-un said that the deployment of the new warship in the East Sea of ​​the Korean Peninsula is a clear message to the adversaries.

He added that while progress is being made in North Korea’s naval nuclear arsenal, the ship Kang-kun will be part of North Korea’s nuclear countermeasures system.

The North Korean leader also said that to protect its maritime sovereignty and regional security, North Korea will continue to increase the most powerful strategic capabilities in key maritime areas.
