Speaking on Geo News program Capital Talk, former Ambassador Dr. Maleeha Lodhi termed the discussion of new provinces or administrative units as a drama.

Maleeha Lodhi said that reforms are needed to improve the economy of Pakistan, you cannot ignore the constitutional procedure through referendum.

Speaking in the program, former foreign secretary Aizaz Chaudhary said that governance and economy are hand in hand, 18 years have passed since the 18th amendment but the resources could not be transferred to the lower level.

He said that now that there is a threat of new provinces, many people are talking about empowering the local government.

Defense analyst Major General Retired Zahid Mehmood said that the cause of the problems in the provinces is bad governance.
