Islamabad (INP) Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that providing affordable housing to the low income and middle class, loans to farmers on easy terms and financial facilities to small and medium businesses is our priority, banks and financial institutions have to play their role in providing loans to farmers, small and medium businesses and housing sector in an effective manner, while the government will encourage banks that play a full role in providing loans. The agricultural sector is the backbone of the country’s economy, measures for development are a national responsibility, farmers should be provided with easy and unhindered access to financial resources. In the review meeting of the Access to Finance Plan 2026-28 in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, measures related to the provision of loans for the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar program, agriculture and small and medium business sector were reviewed.
