Dario Amode, CEO of AI company Anthropic, called for an immediate slowdown in AI development.

Dario Amoday warns that if this is not done, swarms of rebel AI agents could take over the Internet in just six months, and within six to twelve months such a swarm could hijack the entire Internet via persistent botnets, causing trillions of dollars in losses.

According to the American news website, CEO Anthropic wrote that we should slow down the pace of improving the capabilities of AI models. Progress will still be rapid and we must use the time we get wisely.

Anthropic will unilaterally grant employee-like access to external auditors to review security procedures and report incidents, he said.

CEO Anthropic urged the entire industry to do the same.
