It’s time again to check out everything new this weekend on Netflix US! As we approach the middle of the month, it’s definitely a lot quieter compared to the month A collection of 109 new movies and series that we watched last week. Over the past seven days, 39 new releases (21 films and 18 series) have arrived on the streaming service, in addition to… A few other titles in cultural liberationincluding BuzzFeed’s Rizz Quiz and K-Pop closer.
Whether you’re looking for a sequel to a popular anime, the return of a thrilling international thriller, or some intense real-life competition, this week’s lineup has plenty to keep your queue full all weekend long. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)

One of the most visually stunning and critically acclaimed animated films of the past decade has officially moved to Netflix US! Antonio Banderas returns as the voice of the legendary fear-defying cat, who suddenly realizes that he has recklessly burned eight of his nine lives. To get her back, he teams up with his ex-girlfriend Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) and a relentlessly optimistic therapy dog named Perrito (Harvey Guillén) on an epic quest to find the legendary Wishing Star.

Based on the best-selling novel by Saskia Nort, this exciting new Dutch film already makes a strong case for being the best non-English show on Netflix this year. The story follows Karin, who moves to the wealthy village of Bergen and is warmly welcomed into the “Eetclub” – a wealthy, close-knit circle of friends with huge villas and seemingly perfect lives. However, when one of these villas catches fire and one of its members dies, Karen begins to realize that this cozy group is actually held together by a shaky pile of secrets and lies.
In our 5/5 recent reviewwe praised the show as a “layered drama with a healthy dose of tension” that reveals its secrets like an onion ring every time. If you like a European mystery that’s worth watching, this is a great weekend watch that qualifies as “very good” and considers it one of the best, if not the best, international series of 2026.
Waiting for the barbarians (2020)

Featuring a powerhouse trio of actors – Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattinson – this slow-burning drama is a hidden gem well worth your time, despite abysmal reviews from critics upon its release. Of course, Pattinson is the star of the moment thanks to his big role in The Odyssey (coming soon to Netflix) and his upcoming film Primetime, which looks set to compete for major awards and be a box office hit.
In this film, based on J.M. Coetzee’s acclaimed novel, the story revolves around a pacifist magistrate (Rylance) who runs an isolated outpost on the edge of an unnamed empire. His quiet existence is violently turned upside down by the arrival of the sunglasses-wearing Colonel (Depp) who uses harsh and torturous interrogation methods on the local Bedouins to uncover a supposed uprising. It is a fascinating, finely crafted, thought-provoking meditation on imperialism and morality.
