A majority of Pakistanis described doing business in the country as difficult and complained of business difficulties.

In the iPor survey, 91 percent of Pakistanis complained about business difficulties in the country and described doing business as the most difficult process.

In the survey, 46 percent complained about the complicated tax system and 19 percent about not having access to credit.

In the survey, 12% of Pakistanis cited corruption, 10% as rising electricity and gas prices, 7% as government laws and 2% as political instability as the cause of business difficulties.

76 percent of Pakistanis demanded additional legislation from the government to protect businesses, while 66 percent of Pakistanis also expressed concern over the country’s growing debt burden.

On the question of whether the IMF program is important for the economic stability of Pakistan? 30 percent said it was harmful while 19 percent said it was beneficial, while 38 percent said the IMF program did not benefit the people.
