Peshawar (Arshadaziz Malik) 40 double shift schools were finally closed due to low or zero enrollment despite spending 13.4 million 70 thousand rupees on the double shift school program in Charsadda during the fiscal year 2021-22 and 2022-23, while the Auditor General of Pakistan’s performance audit report identified serious irregularities in program planning, selection of schools, recruitment of teachers, supervision and financial matters. The report also revealed the admissions of ghost students. According to the audit report, the provincial government started the double shift school program in the academic session of 2021-22.
