Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf has welcomed the Chinese and Russian move to veto the resolution on US sanctions on Iran.
Baqir Qalibaf said in a statement on social media that the two countries’ veto rejected the political use of the Security Council and reaffirmed the rule of law.
He has said that the unipolar system, in which one party obtains concessions from the other party through force and pressure, is over.
The Iranian parliamentary speaker has stressed the defense of the multilateral system and said that unilateral favoritism is not in anyone’s interest.
It should be noted that the United States has once again imposed sanctions on Iran, and China and Russia vetoed the resolution presented in the United Nations in this regard.
The resolution included the restoration of an independent panel of experts, tasked with monitoring violations, reporting to the 15-member Security Council and recommending further action.
