Iran also ordered the Swedish diplomat to leave the country within forty-eight hours after the decision to expel the Iranian embassy official from the country.
Iran summoned Sweden’s ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and registered a protest and described Sweden’s Iran policy as destructive.
At the same time, Iran dismissed Stockholm’s accusations of interference in security affairs as baseless and objected to allowing anti-Iranian elements to operate in Sweden.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry claimed that Sweden decided to expel the Iranian official under pressure from the Israeli government.
