A vehicle full of ammunition hit the gate of the old police lines, after which an explosion occurred and firing started, the terrorists tried to infiltrate the building of the police lines, but the police and CTD personnel fought hard, in a joint operation, all 6 attackers, including a sniper, were killed. Zulfiqar Hameed along with other officers reached Kohat where he personally supervised the operation against the terrorists. The joint operation continued for several hours. He expressed regret for the loss of life, he directed to provide immediate and best medical aid to the injured and said that the complete elimination of Fitnah Al-Khawarij and terrorists is indispensable for national security. According to reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafi Jan participated in the funeral prayers of the people who were martyred in the Kohat blast and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. According to the details, 21 people were martyred, including 15 policemen and 6 civilians, while more than 103 people were injured as a result of an explosion in the old police line on Hangupshawar Road in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during Friday prayers. 6 terrorists were killed in retaliatory action by security forces and police. A suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the gate of police lines, resulting in a loud explosion, while other attackers tried to enter the complex. After the attack, IG Police reached the spot along with Additional IGC CTD Kohat. According to the police officials, the operation and clearance against terrorists continued under the direct supervision of IGP. IG Zulfikar Hameed clarified that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has full capacity to wipe out terrorists from the page which is bravely fighting terrorism, terrorists and their facilitators will be brought to an end. The CTD experts also briefed the IG and Additional IG on the situation and informed that the terrorists and their facilitators are being traced. Their complete elimination will be ensured. The police chief was also presented with a preliminary report of the explosion at the Police Lines mosque and was told that 7 armed terrorists infiltrated the police lines, including the alleged suicide bombers. General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kohat led the ongoing clearance operation after the bomb blast in the Police Line Mosque, GOC Kohat met the police and security forces personnel participating in the clearance operation and appreciated their courage, commitment and professional performance. On this occasion, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed was also present along with General Officer Commanding. Paying tribute, he said that the soldiers of Pakistan Army and Police are standing in the front line in the war against Khawarij.
