London (Mortaza Ali Shah) Kuwaiti-Pakistani businessman Mueez Ahmed Mirza is set to take control of English non-league football club Plymouth Parkway FC through an international education company. His plan is to take the club to the English Football League within the next decade. Speaking at a press conference with the management of Plymouth Parkway FC in London, Moeez Ahmed Mirza confirmed that the Heads of Terms have been signed with the club, following which the club’s transition to a new ownership and management structure has begun. Karachi-born and Kuwait-based Mueez Ahmed Mirza told Geo News that his aim is to develop Plymouth Parkway as a professional football club, while maintaining the club’s existing identity and connection with the local community. The Plymouth Parkway was established in 1988. The club play at their home ground Bolitho Park and currently compete in the Southern League Premier Division South, the seventh tier of English football. The club is four divisions below city rivals Plymouth Argyle. Mirza said that his institution has supported more than 3,000 international students and has established partnership links with more than 600 universities around the world. Mirza said that under his plans, education and football will be combined. These will also include programs that will give students opportunities to play competitive football, while also learning about the administrative and commercial aspects of a football club.
