Pakistan has had a great start in the squash event of the ongoing Asian Games in Japan where they qualified for the next stage by winning 3 out of 5 matches.

In the mixed doubles event, Muhammad Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali outclassed Nepal’s Bapana Balon and Arhant Simha by 0-2, in men’s singles, Muhammad Ashab Irfan outclassed Lebanon’s Jason Karam by 0-3 in straight sets, while Dianoor Zaman outclassed Philippines’ Van Aero Angelo by 0-3.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Mahnoor Ali and Sana Bahadur were defeated by players from Singapore and Iran respectively in women’s singles.

Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal and Sahrish Ali will play a crucial match against Hong Kong tomorrow in mixed doubles. In the mixed doubles round of 16, Muhammad Asim Khan and Mehwish Ali will face the pair of hosts Japan.

In the men’s singles round of 16, Noor Zaman will face Kuwait’s Ammar Al-Tamimi, while Ashhab Irfan will face Saudi Arabia’s Muhammad Al-Nasfan.
