On the occasion of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bangladesh Prime Minister Tariq Rehman had an important meeting, in which all aspects of bilateral relations were reviewed in detail.

A joint statement of the meeting has been issued by both the countries, according to which the two leaders expressed complete satisfaction over the positive development in Pak-Bangladesh relations.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Bangladesh for presiding over the United Nations General Assembly session and reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Bangladesh’s efforts to promote the goals of the United Nations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his determination to further stabilize and strengthen bilateral relations with Bangladesh, while Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tariq Rehman also expressed his desire to further promote relations with Pakistan while appreciating the positive progress between the two countries.

According to the statement, the two Prime Ministers emphasized the importance of promoting mutual cooperation in trade, tourism and other sectors and maintaining continuous communication and cooperation under multilateral forums, especially the United Nations.
