Bollywood actor Salman Khan got a big relief, the Delhi High Court ordered to stop the release of the film ‘Kala Haran: The Battle for Legacy’ affected by the incident that happened to the actor.

According to Hindustan Times, during a hearing on Thursday, September 10, the Delhi High Court ordered that the film cannot be released in theaters for now.

‘Kala Haran’ is a crime thriller and drama film, the story of which is inspired by the controversial 1998 black buck poaching case in Rajasthan, in which Salman Khan was involved.

The story of the film revolves around the 1998 poaching of an Indian blackbuck, an animal sacred to the Bishnoi community, which sparked several major legal disputes.

After recording the statement of the film’s producer Amit Jani, the High Court declared that the film cannot be released in theaters at present as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) clearance is pending.

Lawyer Prag Khandhar, who is part of Salman Khan’s legal team, said that the next hearing of the case will be held on September 30, 2026. Until the next hearing, the film will not be released in theaters or on the OTT platform.

The court has also directed the parties to submit their reply before the next hearing.

Salman Khan had filed a case against the producers of ‘Kaala Haran’ to stop the production, promotion and release of the film.

The actor had taken the position that the film has seriously violated the rights of my personality and public identity, the film has made illegal use of my public personality, which may affect my reputation.

In his petition, Salman Khan had said that the film was inspired by the 1998 blackbuck poaching case against me, which could be clearly identified in the film’s posters, teasers and promotional materials.

His legal team also alleged that the filmmakers used Salman Khan’s lookalike wearing his signature bracelet.
