A ‘Super White’ Shaheen has been auctioned in Abu Dhabi, which was sold for 2.5 million dirhams (Rs 1.89 million).
The evening of the first auction of Eddie Hacks, an international exhibition held at the ‘Adnik Center’ in Abu Dhabi, became memorable when the Emirati bidder Khalid bin Saifan increased the bid from 210,000 dirhams to 250,000 dirhams in one step and surprised all the fans in the hall by winning the rare Shaheen.
After the successful bid, Khalid bin Saifan expressed his happiness by reciting a specific verse of traditional Emirati poetry.
I have not brought any common bird from my father’s race
This is a blatant threat to competitors in the championship round!
A total of 7 rare birds were offered at the auction on Saturday evening, with this ‘Super White Jer’ becoming the highest priced falcon.
These falcons purchased from the auction will have the opportunity to earn the ‘Eddie Hex Badge’, which will enable them to compete in the historic ‘President’s Cup Falconry Competition’ for the 2026-27 season.
The actual event of the exhibition will continue from August 28 to September 6, during which a total of 8 different auctions will be held where online and in-person bidding will be available.
