In our Exclusive interview with the directors Alice Tzu and John Ripa talk about this huge pivot and why the traditional musical format didn’t work for the story they wanted to tell.

“The film started out as a musical, but it has evolved in many ways since 2020, when we started working on it,” Ripa explained. “The film started to hit the kind of comedic, earthy tone that made a purely musical genre seem like it didn’t seem relevant anymore.”

By eliminating the need to pause for traditional music, the film’s sharp, rebellious writing and the natural comedic timing of its voice actors are able to really shine.

Will there be any musical elements?

So, while Lilith and Cinderella may not be singing their duet to express their inner feelings, fans can still expect some stunning musical moments and a stunning score by Chris Powers. It remains to be seen whether those original songs are digitech or just part of an epic soundtrack to accompany the motorcycle-riding goats.
