In the wake of the latter Announcement that statement spin off It’s officially in the works at Netflix, and we’re finally getting more details about where the new sci-fi mystery will take place — and where cameras will actually be rolling.
As a quick recap, Arrivals: A New Clear Mystery will move the supernatural action away from New York City and straight to the middle of the country. If you missed it, here’s the official log for the upcoming series:
“When a mysterious plane lands in Denver, the passengers emerge with no memory of who they are, where they come from, or why they are here. A young social worker and a rookie DHS agent team up with the new arrivals in an attempt to stop a catastrophe that is ending humanity, discovering along the way that they are all part of the puzzle they are trying to solve.”
To help keep fans engaged while the 60 Minutes ensemble drama is in pre-production, the creative team has launched a brand new behind-the-scenes series on Instagram. Led by Manifest creator Jeff Rake, along with partners Margaret Easley and first-time show creator Laura Putney, the video series aims to give fans an unprecedented peek at how a TV show goes from its initial announcement to its streaming on Netflix.
in Editorial updatePutney confirmed the show’s location and shed some light on the production process. The team recently traveled to Denver, Colorado, to scout the location to ensure they captured the authentic look, feel and atmosphere of the city. However, as is often the case with TV magic, the production will actually be camped in the North.
“We’re not filming the show in Denver. Fun fact is, we’re filming the show in Vancouver,” Putney explained to fans. “We’re going to have to make the mountains and the city of Vancouver look like Denver. It’s a Hollywood trick, but it’s important that we get it right.”
This direct confirmation aligns perfectly with the production network details we’ve seen, which list Vancouver as an active location for Warner Bros. Television. and Tall Baby Productions and co-production Compari Entertainment. There’s no official start date in the books yet, although we suspect it won’t be until next year with our understanding it could be in January 2027.
