China and Russia vetoed the UN resolution on Iran sanctions monitoring. Sanctions were reimposed on Iran.

The resolution included the restoration of an independent panel of experts, tasked with monitoring violations, reporting to the 15-member Security Council and recommending further action.

Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf said China and Russia’s use of the veto rejected political exploitation of the Security Council and upheld the rule of law.
