The music video for Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s new song ‘Devil’ has caught the attention of social media, showing scenes of protests, clashes between police and protesters.

Diljit has released the video of his new song, in which a large number of people can be seen protesting and holding placards.

The video also features messages like ‘Save Our Future’ and ‘Our Future, Our Fight’.

Although Diljit did not name any specific protest or organization in the song, some viewers linked scenes from the video to the student protests in July.

In the video, Diljit is shown standing in the middle of a crowd of protesters, while the situation between the police and the protesters becomes tense and scenes of clashes also unfold.

At the end of the video, a young girl walks towards a policeman with a white rose in hand, after which the policeman approaches her and hugs her.

The words ‘Don’t try this at home’ are shown at the end of the video, followed by the message ‘I’m An Artist Bro’.

Due to the protest scenes, a debate started among social media users whether the video is related to the recent student protests or not.

The debate over the video has also brought back to the fore Diljit’s previous statements he made during the protests in July.

In an Instagram Live session, when asked about the protest, Diljit said, “I am an artist, not a politician.”

“I was not fully aware of the situation because I was busy with my tour,” he said.

Later, the actor and singer expressed regret over the incident that happened to the students and said that the students should not have been treated like this, the authorities should listen to their demands.

Diljit had also said that he had been called ‘anti-national’ many times in the past and feared that he might face similar charges in this case as well.
