The spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Interior, Ali Zainiwand, has said that efforts and international diplomatic mediation are ongoing to resolve the issues and return to the Islamabad Agreement.
According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, during the press briefing, Ali Zainiwand said that Iran demands that the other party abide by its obligations under the agreement.
The Iranian official emphasized that this is a deal that has been approved by the Supreme National Security Council and ratified by the Supreme Leader, so it is considered an official decision of the regime.
Active diplomacy continues, including the president’s participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS meetings in India and Kyrgyzstan, as well as extensive consultations, he said.
Referring to Iran’s record high inflation following decades of Western sanctions, the spokesman for the Iranian Interior Ministry said that rising prices are a concern for the public and all authorities are working to resolve the issue.
Ali Zainiwand has said that rehabilitation of damaged urban infrastructure is the first priority of the country in the post-war programs.
He said that the repair of residential houses and public service facilities, such as police stations, has priority over all non-essential projects of the government which can be delayed for now.
Ali Zainiwand also said that as a result of enemy attacks, about 75,000 residential units, some infrastructure and communication bridges have been affected in various provinces including Hormozgan and Gulistan.
